In her delivery of care as a breast care nurse, Melanie worked closely with the NCCS multi-disciplinary team which include her fellow breast care nurses, Occupational therapist, Medical Social Workers (MSW) to ensure that the breast care patients are taken care during their cancer trajectory. She often managed patients who faced with various psychosocial challenges, occasions whereby patients refused to go for their treatments or patients who struggle with post treatment side effects. As a nurse clinician, she would also ensure that timely referral to MSW is made. She recognized the importance of rendering support to both patients and caregivers.
