Professor in the Department of Primary Care Medicine | SingaporeProf Ng Chirk Jenn is a Professor in the Department of Primary Care Medicine, University of Malaya. Besides practising as a Family Physician, he teaches and conducts research in shared decision making (SDM) and evidence-based medicine (EBM), particularly in a culturally diverse context. He has collaborated with clinicians across different disciplines to develop and evaluate patients’ decision aids for patients with diabetes, breast and prostate cancer. Currently, Chirk Jenn is focusing on developing innovative strategies to implement SDM and EBM in general practice. He is also collaborating with international researchers to study decision making preferences and decisional roles across different cultures. Prof Ng is also the Deputy Chair of the University of Malaya Medical Centre and ex-Editor-in-Chief of the Malaysian Family Physician. He is currently leading the eHealth team at the University of Malaya, to find and implement innovative and sustainable solutions to solve day-to-day healthcare problems for patients and clinicians.

Dr Fok is a keen educator and is a faculty and ethics lead at the College of Family Physicians Singapore, Master of Medicine and Fellowship (Family Medicine) programmes. She has a deep interest in health services research, especially in the areas of oncology like cancer prevention, screening, survivorship and high-risk surveillance. In addition, Dr Fok is passionate about primary care research in mental health, transitional care and innovative integrated care delivery models. She is involved in various studies in oncology and family medi-cine, both in the capacity of principal and co-investigator. She advocates for "Cancer as a chronic disease" and has collaborated to develop cancer survivorship clinical practice guidelines in breast and colorectal cancer survivorship. Consultant Medical Oncologist | SingaporeDr Samuel Ow is a Consultant Medical Oncologist in the Department of Haematology-Oncology, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS). He obtained his medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, where he was awarded Distinction in Medicine, the Nestle Gold Medal, and placed on the Dean’s List for his academic achievements. He received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding House Officer of his entire cohort in 2007, and obtained the Masters of Medicine (Internal Medicine) and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) on an MOHH Postgraduate Exam Scholarship in 2011. He subsequently successfully completed his specialty training in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at NCIS where he served as Chief Registrar, and was also selected for the inaugural Singapore Chief Residency Program. Dr Samuel Ow’s clinical and research interests are in Breast Cancer and Clinical Cancer Genetics. He received a Master of Public Heath with concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on an Academic Medicine Development Award in 2016. During his time in Baltimore, USA, he also attended sessions at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is a co-investigator in several investigator-initiated and multi-national clinical trials. His research work has been published in peer-reviewed journals as well as at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting. He is an alumnus of the Clinical Cancer Genetics Community of Practice Intensive Course in Cancer Risk Assessment conducted by the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, and currently runs the Cancer Genetics Clinic at NCIS. He also sits on the committee for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at the institutional and national level, to help drive greater awareness for breast cancer screening and prevention in the general public. Dr Samuel Ow strongly believes in the importance of training the next generation of physicians. He is an Assistant Professor on the Clinician-Educator track at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and is currently the Associate Program Director of the Medical Oncology Senior Residency Program at NCIS. He is active in medical education at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, and has been awarded for teaching excellence. On the administrative front, Dr Samuel Ow serves as Assistant Clinical Director of the Division of Medical Oncology, and is involved in improving processes to enhance clinical care in cancer patients. He is an advocate for multidisciplinary collaboration, and notably led a team from NCIS to win the Best Practice Medal (Care Redesign Category) at the National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity Medals 2019.
